How I Decorated My Cozy Home Office

Introduction

I love my home office. When my husband and I bought this house, we knew we wanted to have a space that would be comfortable, functional and fun. We like to spend time in our living room, but it’s also where guests come over so the last thing I want is for them to feel like they can’t relax because of my work area. My home office has a few special touches that make me feel cozy and happy every day when I’m working from home.

My home office is cozy, but it’s all about comfort

I’m sure you’ve heard the saying, “cozy doesn’t have to mean small.” Well, it’s true. My home office is cozy, but it’s all about comfort.

Comfort is a feeling that can be achieved with a few key pieces of furniture and some personal touches (like plants). In fact, if you’re looking for comfort in your own space–whether it’s an office or bedroom–it may help your body relax by adding some cozy decor elements into the mix. After all, we spend so much time at work or sleeping that these two rooms deserve special attention when it comes to making them feel like home!

I love my white couch

I love my white couch. It’s the perfect backdrop for my cozy home office and makes the space feel bigger than it actually is. While there are many ways to decorate your home office, I decided on an all-white look because I wanted something clean and simple that wouldn’t distract from work at hand.

I’ve seen some beautiful examples of people who have used their own unique style while keeping things light in their spaces as well! One example is this gorgeous blogger who uses different textures like leather chairs or fur rugs to add warmth to her room (and also helps keep her pup off the furniture). Another example comes from a fellow blogger who has chosen bold pops of color throughout her space instead:

I keep my desk functional, but chic

I kept my desk functional, but chic. My desk is small, but I have enough space for all of my stuff. It’s a solid piece of furniture that I can move around if I need to.

I have a printer on the desk and it doesn’t get in the way because it sits on top of this glass table thingy (I don’t know what else to call it).

My chaise lounge doubles as a second desk when needed.

There are so many reasons why a chaise lounge is a great space saver. First of all, it’s a chair that doubles as a bed (and sometimes even more). It can be used for extra seating when needed and also makes a great reading nook.

The one I have at home is actually quite big and comfortable enough for me to use as my second desk when I need it! I keep my computer on top of the chaise lounge with some bookshelves behind it so there’s plenty of room left over for other things like art supplies or whatever else strikes my fancy at the time.

Creating a cozy space in your home office is as easy as enjoying what you have and adding a few pieces that make you feel at home.

Creating a cozy space in your home office is as easy as enjoying what you have and adding a few pieces that make you feel at home. When I moved into my first apartment, I didn’t have much money to spend on decorating. However, I still wanted my apartment to feel like mine–so I took the time to make it look cozy and welcoming by using things that were already there or inexpensive items from thrift stores (like this awesome chaise lounge).

If you don’t want to spend any money on decorating your office space but still want it to look good and feel comfortable, these tips should help:

  • Add some plants! Plants are great because they add color without costing much money. Plus they help purify the air inside your home so it’s healthier for both humans and pets alike! They also give off oxygen during photosynthesis which helps improve concentration levels during long hours spent working away at computer screens.* Use white furniture instead of darker colors like black or brown because white makes rooms seem bigger than they actually are when viewed from outside windows through glass panes into other rooms within buildings where blinds aren’t always closed completely shut due our privacy concerns with strangers seeing us behind closed doors.”

Conclusion

I hope this blog post has inspired you to create a cozy home office of your own. It’s all about finding what works for you and making it as cozy as possible!
